Liftboy 5 is a compact wheelchair platform lift for height differences of up to 1,300 mm. Two electric actuators drive a double scissor mechanism, and an automatic ramp lets a wheelchair roll on and off at ground level. It is built by Lehner Lifttechnik in Austria and is now available in the UAE through Flex Access, for villa entrances, raised ground floors, stages and podiums where a ramp would take too much space.

What Is Liftboy 5?
It is a vertical platform lift for wheelchair users who need to cross a height difference of up to 1,300 mm. The platform sits on a double scissor mechanism powered by two 24 V actuators. Folded down, it is only 125 mm high, so it can stand on a finished floor without a pit. An automatic ramp opens at the lower level and closes before the platform rises.
The lift is manufactured by Lehner Lifttechnik GmbH in Austria and designed to the guidelines of European Standard EN 81-41 for platform lifts. It is now available in the UAE. Flex Access supplies, installs and maintains it across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the other emirates.

A Full Storey Step in a Small Footprint
The lift uses two scissor sets driven by two separate actuators. The control unit monitors the current each actuator draws and stops the lift if the two drift apart, so the platform stays level under load. The whole unit takes about 1,150 x 1,572 mm of floor space with the standard 900 mm platform.
At a 1:12 gradient, a ramp for a 1.3 metre rise runs more than 15 metres before landings are added. This lift covers the same rise in under 2 square metres of floor space, which makes it a practical retrofit for entrances that are already built.

Safety on Every Side of the Platform
A scissor lift has moving parts under the platform and an open edge at the top landing. The lift protects the rider, the people nearby and the mechanism itself.
- Contact strips on all four sides stop the platform if it meets an obstacle on the way down
- A contact bar stops upward travel if something is caught above the platform
- Folding bellows enclose the scissor mechanism so hands and feet stay clear of it
- Overload control blocks upward travel and only lets the platform return to the lower level
- The upper gate stays locked until the platform arrives at the top landing
- The ramp only opens at the lower stop, and the platform will not rise until it is closed
- An emergency stop button and a key switch on the platform prevent unauthorised use
